AKUMAL - MEXICO May 2013

This post is a bit late because I did not have the necessary cord to download the pictures to the computer. In May Janson and I went on a trip to Akumal. We rented a small house right at the beachfront of Akumal. We also rented a car so we could explore nearby cities like Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The town of Akumal was pretty much the area we stayed in (very very small but a place where there were many houses to rent). Tulum was my favorite place to go to. Small town but more authentic. Many vendors in the street at night selling tacos, corn on the cob with mayo and chile, etc. There was a plaza where sometimes they played movies. We also went to the Tulum ruins, and several cenotes. Exploring different restaurants was fun. The best was the street food.

The house we stayed at was right on the beach. It was so peaceful. Hardly any people were on the beach. I felt it was all to ourselves. It was a great place to relax and  snorkel which is something we did a lot of. The beaches in Tulum were amazing. White sand, clear blue water. I remember walking into the water and feeling the waves crashing against me. I felt the beauty and grandeur of the earth as I looked into the endless ocean water and felt the waves crashing into me.

This trip was so relaxing and I loved that Janson and I got to experience this together.
