Golden years

Yesterday we threw a surprise birthday party for my dear mom who will be turning 50 Augugst 1st. We invited her siblings and many of her friends. We had some food and then we enjoyed some cake, ice cream and each others' company. I worked on the cake for two days. I couldn't have done it without the help of Janson and Susan who helped entertain my girls while i slaved for 7+ hours to accomplish my first topsy turvy cake. Poor Janson had to put up weeks of me talking about this cake and how indecisive i was about the design. But he was kind enough to listen and give me his input when asked.

For those of you who may not know my mom real well, i'd say if i had to use one word to describe her it would be: charity. She is always willing to help those around her no matter how busy or tired she may be and she is always making sure others are comfortable. She is a great grandmother and a great mother. She is a great cook, and my personal opinion, the best in the family. I admire her faith and devotion to the Lord. She is and always has been a hard worker in all that she does. Feliz cumpleanos mami!

House work never ends!

For the last four months Janson has been diligently working very hard day and night to get our yard done. He has done 95% of the work by himself. He has built a retaining wall, a courtyard, a pergola, placed sprinklers, placed dirt and rock (and i am sure i am forgetting some other things). He worked in the rain, in the heat, and even in the dark. Very dedicated. Finally he has finished the grunt work. Here is a quick glimpse of the work he has done.

I have a friend who is pregnant and she has twins who are carlie's age. She has not been feeling well so another friend (laura) and i got together to help her out. Laura was going to clean our friends house while i watched both of her kids and my kids. So i ended up having 6 kids total all under the age of 3. Thank goodness for my dear parents who helped me out.....what did we do? Let them go crazy at chuck e cheese. Luckily we had the whole place to ourselves!

here we go...

Ok so i decided to start a blog on our family mostly because my siblings are all out of town as well as some of Janson's family..so this will be great for them to see pictures of the girls (since really this will be mostly about them because lets face it - THEY make our lives interesting) :0)

Jenna was born May 1st 2011 at 5:21am after only almost 3 hours of labor and regrettably no pain medication. She was totally worth it!

proud father!

Jenna was blessed this month and these are some pictures of her. She now weighs 12lbs 0.5oz and is 23.6 inches long.

Carlie is potty training at the moment and not very successfully. It seems the only times she can tell me she needs to potty is if she is naked. She definetally is very opinionated and knows what she wants. She is ALWAYS singing and loves music. Recently Janson and I went to look at some rocks for our back yard. We left the driver seat open and carlie climbed in and started to "drive" pushing every button she could. When we approached her she demanded "stop mom" "stay there mom". Finally Janson got in with her and let her drive. It was pretty funny! - yeah she is in the "I can do it myself" stage. -- which i have a feeling is a stage that won't go away.

Janson continues to work hard in the back yard and we are hoping he will be done no later than august.. yay!
janson built this pergola. i'm pretty proud of how handy and talented he is.

this (meaning the yard) has been janson's weekend fun for the last month or two.....or three.....actually four.
